ALLISTON & DISTRICT SPORTSMEN’S CLUB
Being a member- New Member Rules.
Congratulations; becoming a new member is the commencement of a mandatory probationary period no less than 12 months.
During this time you will be expected to attend club meetings and range orientation at both facilities. You are encouraged to participate in club functions and range days, volunteering time if you are able and willing helps maintain the daily functioning of the range. The club executive as well as the club instructors will assist you in learning what is required to complete the probationary period. Members are expected to respect individuals of the community who use the access route to the range, be courteous and considerate. Observe all posted signs and speed limits.
All shooting disciplines and opportunities are extended to you. ADSC is hopeful that you will enjoy and participate with other members towards becoming a full member in this club. Three conditions are attached to probationary membership as follows.
- As a probationary member you are not allowed to take a guest to the range
- You are not allowed to take on range officers duties and responsibilities.
- Lastly, you must be a current paid member for at least one year to vote at the Annual General meeting
There are certain rules to be learned about firearms use and the use of the club/range facilities.These are part and parcel of ADSC constitution and by laws which you have been provided with.
After successfully completing required training you will be required to demonstrate the safe use and handling of firearms, knowledge of range safety and range commands, exercise safety and conduct yourself in a safe manner when on club property and be knowledgeable of both Federal and Provincial laws relating to firearms use and ownership. After completion of your training period, the club executive will decide on your acceptability to become a regular member in good standing with ADSC.
Successfully fulfilling the mentioned training requirements and probation period you will be required to sign documentation which you have been provided. Your signature will also serve as verification that you are aware of all range safety rules with this club and that you will follow these rules whenever you are on club property. Becoming a full member offers the opportunity to shoot alone on ADSC ranges, however a buddy system is always recommended. At all times be safe.
ADSC facilities include 48 yards 11 shooting lanes at the Beeton ranges.
